Ayako Lainez, Executive Functioning Coach

Ayako works with various age groups from children to adults. She joins the Life Light Counseling team as an executive functioning coach. She has a credential as an education specialist and a Master’s degree in special education. In the past, Ayako has worked as a resource specialist and special education teacher in public schools, and was an academic counselor at a private high school. She also holds certification as a Project Management Professional, which shows her strong organization skills. She looks forward to helping clients learn skills to navigate the multiple tasks in daily life as well as academics.

When not working for Life Light Counseling, Ayako is also a college counselor helping high school students to find their next steps.  She has strengths in helping neurodiverse students to find the right school environment and supports, and enjoys coaching students on writing.

When not at work, Ayako enjoys riding her horse, and supporting the Para-equestrian community through her writing skills. She has been involved in therapeutic riding and animal assisted therapy for over 20 years. She loves animals and has a rabbit and cat at home.
